Thanks for your post, Julie. You did a great job. It’s like the formula for succeeding with a small-town newspaper: mention a lot of names!

I would like to point out that this..

“Blogging is only perpetuating current power structures. It’s true. Perhaps we can change it. Perhaps we do need to reveal the lack of neutrality.”

… contains two different ideas. Lack of neutrality, as you put it, or “it’s not a meritocracy!” (as others have said) is one. Perpetuating current power structures (or meet the new boss, some as the old) is another. They actually require separate proofs.

What an incredible job you’ve done synthesizing everything. This is so very helpful, as I continue to untangle my notes and all I learned.

Thanks, too, for the generous links. I am so new at this that Susan Kitchens had to tell me I was on Scoble (!) I missed it completely. It always gives me goosebumps to think someone read what I wrote. I hope it never stops…
