Sometimes I forget I live in a small town. For example, when I start dancing in the baking aisle of T&C while searching for cookie cutters, swaying my hips and singing along to Madonna’s True Love on the background music - and then I stop myself, hoping no one saw me. You didn’t, did you? [...]

Yes, the soccer season ended Saturday. Ten months until the girls play soccer again. In the meantime I can put my soccer mom identity back in the closet. Or wear it as a costume later tonight.
This season Abigail had a particularly excellent team, coached by Brian Carson. The team was small - barely able [...]

Seattle Mind Camp November 5 and 6: I’ll be there
October 28th, 2005 · No Comments
One of the exciting events this fall so far has been watching Seattle Mind Camp come together. To quote the blog:

I was surprised and amazed that he was able to post from his locations. Reading his descriptions of his days as I sat in bed [...]

The only one

This past weekend I spent some time alone with Abigail and took her to the Dancing Paint Brush in Poulsbo where she painted a box shaped like a fish. It was fun to have some time alone with her. If I remember any child’s baby days, I probably remember hers the best, since she was [...]

Feeding Giraffes
October 28th, 2005 · No Comments
Giraffes are often noted for their long necks, but I was surprised to discover how long (and dark and sticky) their tongues are also.
We had fun as a family, squealing and experimenting, bonding with each other and the beasts, offering pellets of food for the blue-gray tongues to scoop and slurp from our hands.
If you’re [...]
