    HI:

What’s the normal length of time that acorns fall? Last year, they seem to have been done by October. This year, it’s mid-November and they’re still coming down. Is there a cyclical effect in which you see more acorns in certain years?

Is it related to temperature? This year, we had the wettest spring on record and are experiencing warmer fall temperatures.

I’m awash in acorns! Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking to buy acorns for my squirrels to eat and the acorn crop here in my area of Western North Carolina seems to be slim pickings. Could you email me if you are willing to sell me some of your acorns. I am looking for 25+ lbs or what ever you have if not that much. jenw@bellsouth.net

I, too, am looking for acorns to buy for our squirrels. I live in Southwest Florida and we have 4 Sherman Fox Squirrels that are really scavenging for food. They roam our cow pasture and are very hungry. We are in a drought season right now and also had one last year so I think it affected our usual crop from our trees. Can anyone help and tell me where I can buy acorns – live oak or laurel oak would be best since they are native here.

    Thanks
    A Campbell

My Mother has been diagnosed with Colitus. She has had diahrea for 5 months now. The doctor gave her a perscription of some kind but she prefers home remedies and found that acorn tea from real acorns works very well. For the first time in 5 months she has had a firm stool and obviously the acorn tea is the reason.
She lives in Florida where the acorns are small. I am looking for good, robust acorns that I may purchase for her.
    Please help.
    Thank you,
    Paul

    Where do you buy them?

  • 8 donna E. // Sep 19, 2007 at 7:08 pm

Hello all. I live in Northeast Iowa, and the acorns are now falling. I will pick and sell as I go. Email me how much you want. I have never sold them before, but we can figure out a price. I could even ship them in the afternoon if I pick them in the morning.

I am looking to purchase acorns for my squirrels. I noticed other people have asked you for them. Do you sell them? Can you give me a rate. I am looking to purchase a bulk amount.

    Thank you,

Have plenty of acorns for sale. Small or large quantities

  • 11 Maurice Chen // Oct 8, 2007 at 10:57 am

I live in Bucks County, PA and have alot of oak trees on my property. There are tons of acorns that have fallen. Does any one want to buy them? I have no idea what the going rate is but would entertain any offers. Right now, my kid and I have collected about 100lbs. And that’s about a tenth of what’s on my property. They are mostly white oak acorns but I think there are also red oak acorns. Some are starting to germinate already if any one is interested in oak saplings.

To Kathy Freeman and Maurice Chen – Do you still have acorns for sale? If so, please email me at agarrett@andrichinc.com.

    Thanks!

I would also like to purchase some acorns. The red ones would be great for me. I need them to decorate a stage costume (I am a costume designer) so I would need no more than one pound. Please email me at ehughes@expatriateproductions.com

    Thanks,

    Ellen

Sorry about not ever responding 2 yrs ago. We had twin girls not long after I posted that email and our lives were completely turned upside down. I was shocked to see the response to that posting.

But if you didn’t know, oak trees produce acorns every other year. So now, 2 yrs later, the acorns are now falling everywhere. I now have 3 helpers to collect them if anyone wants any.

Here’s my email if anyone wants any. chen_maurice@yahoo.com
