then I wouldn’t need to do this…;-)

  • Michael Hanscom announced the Seattle Metroblog.
  • Washington Gas prices – or any other state (just type in statenamegasprices.com)
  • At the parade, I mentioned to Chip why I don’t like to paint and he found a solution for me in a Cool painting tool.
  • Why Nickelodeon chose orange and green.
  • The 8th Rule of Travel (Jay might want to pay special attention…)
  • Abigail wants comic books: would it be good or bad to give her one?

It’s a little like asking if you should give her books–it’s not so much the medium, but the content.

I learned to read thanks to comics, but they were the UK-style “funny” comics, rather than the super-hero kind.

I’ve seen that before, very cool 🙂

on comics, I hold with the idea that reading just about anything is good for them (cereal boxes and other food packaging, even: last night my 5 yo asked me what “transfats” were and if 0 was a good number to have).

If you want a great read on this (it’s actually a fun romp through art history/appreciation), check out Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud.

And of course, I agree with Phil above that as long they’re age/content-appropriate, they’re fine.
