Bloggers on the road: imagine the possibilities…

I didn’t write posts or read blogs during our travels to San Francisco in August, but as we drove, I imagined how other bloggers would have reacted, had they come along with us for our road trip….here are my notes (finally) posted…

If I were Sam Ruby, I would have watched a few DVDs and made sure I had good shoes for flat feet. (Note: I do have flat feet, but I don’t have a DVD player in our car.)

If I were Anita Rowland or Lisa Dusseault, I would have knitted matching sweaters for the girls…or at least matching scarves. (Knitting a scarf is all I could attempt at the moment…but I’m not even trying…)

If I were Jay McCarthy, I would have read at least half a dozen books while on the road and borrowed a few beforehand from Richard. (Richard would have probably read a few books himself – then again, he likes to talk to traveling companions…imagine Richard and Jay talking together on a road trip! …Yes, I did read some books, reviews soon to follow.)

If I were Ryan Overbey, I would have become excited seeing this sign.

If I were Lisa Williams, I would have kayaked at least part of the way.(There were several beautiful rivers we crossed by car: I can only imagine kayaking.).

If I were enoch, I would have started the trip by going through Napa Valley…and I might not have made it too far while enjoying all the wine tasting! 🙂

If I were Katherine, I would have stopped to smell the roses, or sample the almonds or enjoy the butterflies. (We did see an almond-sampling stop but we had to keep driving.)

If I were ladygoat, I would have discovered something interesting to eat…(does ketchup count?)

If I were Betsy Devine, I would have to find another S.F. mantra – this one for San Francisco – how I don’t eat Ghiradelli chocolate or clam chowder served in sourdough and I don’t need any cable car Christmas ornaments or San Francisco shot glasses….(yes, I escaped the enticements, buying only a handful of postcards…)

If I were Robert Scoble, I would have flown instead of driving because I meet the most interesting people on planes(I, Julie, don’t have Robert’s skill at meeting interesting people on planes, but I got to share a long van ride with a few people whom I find very interesting…)

If Ted and I were Joey and Wendy, we could have practiced our karaoke together while on the road. (IT Conversations or kiddie tapes are better accompaniment for road warriors than my voice and we’d need to trade our guitar in for an accordion (can you play an accordion while seated?!))

I don’t know whether Scott Koon would take a road trip anywhere – Seattle is where he Wannabes.:-)

And then there’s Dave’s movies, Jeff’s XM Satellite Radio and Ted’s bluetooth blogging.

Anyone up for a road trip? Imagine hitting the road with blogging traveling companions…could be fun or crazy or both…!
