Blogging conferences closer to home

November 14th, 2004 · 1 Comment

Through Richard and Roland, I’ve heard of the NorthernVoice conference planned for February 19th in Vancouver, B.C. Ted and I are thinking about going and I am even thinking about applying to be a speaker or discussion leader (I need to start working on it pronto!). Vancouver would be the closest blogging conference for us yet, and we might be able to do it as a family, taking turns watching the kids, coming and going with only one overnight.

I’d also love to be involved with a local conference. Hearing Ed Cone’s story of his experience in his community has helped motivate me. I’m thinking something simple with two basic goals. To help those who are interested learn more and begin blogging – even start a blog then and there. To encourage those who are already blogging and connect in person. Maybe a gathering that lasts half a day and ends with a potluck lunch or so…

Please comment below if you would be interested in coming to a local-area conference…

    Yay! A Canadian Blogging Conference.

    I suddenly feel happy. 🙂

And here I am on an American website telling me about a Canadian conference. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, we all being in a global community, etc. 🙂
