What can you do with an anesthesia mask?

January 22nd, 2005 · 3 Comments

Pretend to be an announcer at an ice skating competition…

Sitting on a stool in our kitchen this morning, Michaela pressed her anesthesia mask from yesterday’s operation against her face as she announced: Now Abigail Leung and Elisabeth Leung take the ice…

She then started singing while her sisters skated in their stockings across our hardwood floor to her music. They all laugh. I do too.

The mask’s shape is probably more of an inverse megaphone then an effective amplifier. However I’m enjoying watching Michaela enjoy her new toy, her creativity applied to the memento of yesterday’s surgery.

Ted has posted his perspective on the experience and described what it was like to be with Michaela in the operating room.

I’m so glad the surgery went so well. Thank you for sharing the experience with us. Yay for Michaela, the doctor, you, and especially God!

Ah! A wonderful sign that healing is well and truly under way, and that you all did a great job as a family to prepare for and cope together through this. Congratulations on weathering this benchmark together!
