The Flower Fairy strikes

April 1st, 2005 · 1 Comment

From KOMO’s news feed comes this Anderson Island story Knock, Knock. Who’s There? The Flower Fairy:

Someone has delivered dozens of bouquets or potted plants over the past several weeks to residents of the island near Tacoma.

They hear a late-night knock and answer the door to find a floral gift and a cheery handwritten note saying “Hope these make you smile,” signed “Love, the Flower Fairy.” The handwriting appears feminine.

The flower fairy always gets away and no one admits to knowing who she is.

Among all the other news, I found this cheerful story a welcome note. And I’d welcome any flower fairy who chose to make deliveries on this island. What a fun idea!

I’m glad they weren’t intimated by this story: http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~53~2691638,00.html

One year someone on my block did a Halloween visitor thing: a bag full of neat things and goodies was left on your doorstep with a note to do the same to someone else. Once you’d been hit you were supposed to put up a sign (included in the package) saying the Halloween gang had already hit your house. It was fun.
