Combining three of my favorite things

raspberries, microscopy and photography…

I put a piece of berry under the scope on low power..

and then tried to take a picture of it by placing the digital camera against the eyepiece.

I still need to perfect technique, but it’s fun to be able to share what I can see through the scope, the red circles of raspberry and thin “hair” between them.

    For microscopy that the whole family can do, consider a ProScope USB microscope:

    You get a video image (640×480) on the screen, and when you press the button it does a frame grab. The lens (it comes with a 50x and has a 200x available) has an LED ringlight. If you put it on your forehead on a warm day you can watch the sweat ooze out of your pores.
