Hey, just wondering if anyone out there has a good recipe that uses a bag of cranberries? I put one in my shopping cart the other day (absent-mindedly? sucker for a sale?), forgetting that we usually just eat the canned jellied stuff (Ted’s favorite). I don’t think I’ve made cranberry relish from scratch since our first T-day as man and wife years ago. In the paper I saw a yummy recipe involving cherries and cranberries, but it also had a bunch of rum in it – not family-friendly! So any ideas out there, what I should do with it? I could always make a cranberry bread or apple-cranberry cobbler but thought I’d see if any one has any good ideas out there….thanks!

You asked the wrong person…
300+ fresh cranberry recipes:

30 or so homemade cranberry sauce recipes, and trust me homemade will make you wonder what in the WORLD the canned stuff is trying to imitate. I love homemade. And you should never fear alcohol in cooking, as long as you bring alcohol to a simmer for 5 minutes for every 1/4 cup (I think it is), the alcohol burns off, just leaving the flavor of the wine, etc.

but if I can’t convince you of that, I really like this:

and it screams “holiday”
best of luck!
