Green is good

I never noticed the difference before but one day, after buying organic broccoli for a while, I bought some of the other kind – the organic is thin and green, lanky and dark, the other stuff is thick and paler, bloated and anemic in comparison.

Summertime strawberries are the same: the organic/home grown ones small and red throughout, with intense sweet or tartness, the others are huge outside and white inside, lower in flavor, sometimes only bland crunch.

Me suspects some kind of polyploidy and/or intense chemical stimulation going on….
