Banana Bread Recipes?

September 3rd, 2003 · 2 Comments

Looking around on the web this summer I found this yummy banana bread recipe . I was thinking about feeding a friend who doesn’t eat sugar or white flour, so this version with whole wheat flour and honey worked well and was pretty tasty too. I’ve made it a couple times since then. It’s also easy – just takes a few minutes to measure, mix and pour into a pan. I have had other banana bread recipes but this one is fast becoming the favorite…..
any other good banana bread recipes to share?

I’ve always used the reciple from The Joy of Cooking (http://www.simonsays.com/subs/index.cfm?areaid=43), but I have printed out the one you recommended and will try it. I have some banana candidates. I like the idea of oil instead of butter – easier to mix in. Anything easier and quicker I am happy to switch to, as long as it still works well and tastes good. Thanks for the cooking encouragement. I’ll let you know what I think of the recipe. Ginger (our puppy) will appreciate me spending the extra time in the kitchen with her…

So I tried it last night – FABULOUS! The whole family loved it. We had it for dessert after dinner, with our breakfast this morning, and again for snack this afternoon. A nice dark brown inside, moist, tasty. Thanks for sharing – I am switching to this recipe as my standard b/c it is easier than my other recipe was. Emily helped me find needed utensils, measure ingredients, mash the bananas and stir things together.
