Water fun
Fountains, swimming pools, swimming lessons, squirt guns.
Produce
Rows of ripe peaches and nectarines greet me at the grocery store.
The garden
There’s always something new blooming
like these nasturtiums the color of creamsicles
and something to eat
Summer dresses
Blue with polka-dots, black with red flowers, lavender, turquoise: all easy and pretty, feminine fun.
Slip-on shoes
Nail polish: yes. Laces: no.
The beach
Sunny and sandy. Low tide treasures. Castles.
Afternoon naps
How sweet it is to wake up to the ice cream truck.
Heat
Some like it hot. I do!
Sunshine
This Seattle girl can’t get enough rays.
Pass the Vitamin D (and the SPF) please.
Laundry
Less laundry to do when less clothing is worn which means less labor for me.
