Chai Tea Latte

November 17th, 2004 · No Comments

It’s good stuff. I’ve been drinking a lot of it. And reading it too.

“No,” says my mother, “that’s what a real family is like. All this phoniness, all this pretending, here in US. People are so afraid to talk. They are lonely.” Like all immigrants, my mother has a narrative that says this is better about America and that is better about the mother country. The narrative serves a purpose. The narrative makes things make sense.

I’d go help myself to another cup and read and publish a few more posts, but Joey deVilla reminded me that Caffeine is no substitute for sleep. (oops…I thought the equation worked!…) In his comment section there’s a link to Sleep can stimulate insight and creativity.

So on that note, I will head to bed, anticipating the benefits from a night of zzzzz’s… more tea in the morning…
