MacBook headed to repair

October 18th, 2006 · 10 Comments

Yes, my MacBook is exhibiting the random shutdown problem. Dave Winer’s blog posts let me know to look for it, and my laptop started shutting down once in a while in August or early September. By this past weekend, it was shutting down every five minutes. Reading the reports here doesn’t make me happy either. I suppose 2006 will be known in my life as the Year of Laptop Troubles.

In the meantime, check out my flickr pictures to see what else 2006 has brought our family. It really has been a good year in many ways, a year of penguin cakes and salmon eggs, deserts and mountains, movie making and even tap dancing. More on that later…

I’ll blog again from the other side of this…

    Julie,

Welcome back to the ‘Sphere. You have been sorely missed.

I had a chance to meet you at Gnomedex 6 in Seattle in June, BTW.

I’m very sorry to hear about your Mac laptop issues, but now that you have identified them, hopefully you will be able to get them addressed and resolved.

Please write more here, as you are a valued member of this community. Good luck getting Apple to help you ASAP.

    Cheers,

    -Alberto

Wow. Thats a LOT of flickering. Here’s a thought: why is The Last Bite Of Turkish Delight dark green? Because the recipe I have (but haven’t yet made) is pictured as a lovely shade of super-pale pink (and calls for rose-water).

And what did that taste like, because it just doesn’t look like something involving rose-water?

Whew, that was a close one, Julie! I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have to remove you from the blogroll because you had ‘disappeared’.

    Glad to see you back!

I’ve had to send back my MB Pro twice – both times Apple has turned it around in just under a week.

You’ll be back online in no time.
