Last bloom of the garden

Today I felt inspired to take my camera out on our walk through the neighborhood. Here I got a picture of some of the last flowers in our yard. There are a few verbena in the front although I think that the pink flowers did not survive the frost well. There’s also one orange pansy and one blue pansy thriving near the porch. And the quince has surprised me with a few white blossoms. But the calendula is the last plant flowering in the little garden where I grow berries, vegetables and herbs. There’s a few calendula left among the bare dirt beds. I like the cheery orange and yellow. I think I’ll keep the calendula around as long as it looks happy. It’s bright blooms make the girls and me happy.
