Neighborhood in December

December 13th, 2003 · No Comments

Since yesterday we had blue sky sky.jpg

the girls and I went for a walk around the neighborhood, taking the camera with us.

It was fun to capture this cabbage worm crawling across the creamy leaves –
although I was surprised – isn’t it a bit cold for these caterpillars?

Here are some ferns in one of the “Open Space” areas of our neighborhood.

I’ve been admiring these flowers in a neighbor’s yard. I’ve been amazed at how they are still blooming even as the weather has gotten more wintry. This seems to be the last one on the stalk. Does anyone know what kind of flower this is?

Look through the tree trunks and catch a glimpse of the Christmas tree farm that borders our neighborhood!
