White New Year’s?

December 30th, 2003 · No Comments

Well, we didn’t get a White Christmas but maybe we’ll have a snowy January 1st…this morning’s paper says: Snow may test our resolve; up to 4 inches expected
Four inches is a mere pittance in most places, but here it will be cause for celebration for plenty of young children making snow balls and snow men…and cause for caution for many drivers on the roads….

I think too of all the drivers who were stranded in snow on I-5 in Oregon and California. We have some friends who drove down for Christmas and we thought – very briefly – about trying it ourselves. I’d love to go visit friends and family in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas, but I think we will wait until the snow seaon has passed. Coulda been us stuck there – and we’d be needing not just food, water and gas but also diapers! I heard this story on the news last night, and I’m glad to read this morning that the roads are open again…
