What do you do if you enjoy someone’s blog/writing but you’ve never met the writer? How do you introduce yourself? I got the chance to meet Andrew Grumet a couple weeks ago, and I think it might have been a little less awkward if I had simply said, “Hey, can I join your fan club?”
Even though I don’t quite understand all the technology, I like reading Andrew’s posts, including his observations like this one about train conversations and cold cuts. The other day he linked to MIT’s The Tech interviews Jack Valenti. I have recently finished reading Lawrence Lessig’s Free Culture and discussing it with my MIT-alum hubby, so that night Ted and I sat on the sofa and went to the link, reading the article together.
So I’m a fan of Andrew and of many other bloggers…perhaps I should start introducing myself as such….and asking for autographs too! 🙂
