Yes, it’s countdown time at our home. We even have 2 countdowns:
Uncle Doggie Countdown:
Ted’s brother will be visiting us later this week. Abigail is so excited she wants to learn how to count the days on a calendar. Both girls have been looking through our photo albums and finding pictures, exclaiming at the sight of Uncle Doggie. It’s been a while since he’s been in town or that we’ve seen him. We are all looking forward to his arrival…
Finish-the-Book Countdown:
This week is the last week, therefore Anything-Goes for Ted’s schedule, whatever it takes – crazy schedule, caffeine…. As he blogged earlier I’ve Reverted Too , he’s gone “nocturnal”. (think he came to bed last night about 45 minutes before I got up!) Yes, as the biologist of the house, I do use “nocturnal”, but it always reminds me of the Nocturnal House at Woodland Park Zoo when I was a kid, peering through the darkness looking for those reflective eyes….At least Ted’s in good company for his night work: let’s see, there’s racoons, bats, cats…oh yes, he’s up late along with Jeremy Zawodny as Ted mentioned. Also Bill Joy in his essay “Why the Future Doesn’t Need Us” (see my blog on Taking the Red Pill ) says at the end: “I’m up late again – it’s almost 6 a.m. I’m trying to imagine some better answers, to break the spell and free them from the stone”.
